My Brothers Birth

I woke up in the middle of the night because my mum was screaming loudly. I went down stairs and I saw my mum in her birth pool. I realised that she was having the baby so I sat down on the stool and began watching my mum having labour pains. I didn’t really mind that she was screaming and that she was in pain because she had told me that it is natural. My mum said she could feel his head. I saw a patch of blood on his head as he was coming out. I was the first person to see if it was a boy or a girl. I saw his willy so I knew he was a boy.

After he was born the cord was tangled up around him so mum and the midwife untangled him. After a minute he started to breathe and cry. Me and my dad cut the cord with some special scissors. I was the first person to hold him after my mum. The midwife tested my brother and weighed him. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces.

He has been named Ben. He feeds a lot and cries a lot and sleeps most of the time. Everybody wants to visit him. I am not jealous because I am looking forward to teaching him how to play football and support Manchester United. I hope he does.
